Educated in Toowoomba, Gary's first career was in the canvas manufacturing industry. After completing an apprenticeship, and seeking to better himself, he decided to start his own business, co-founding Sunset Canvas. It was here that he developed skills in managing staff and clients, acquiring substantial experience in negotiation, sales and people skills.
Gary left the canvas industry in 2004 to focus on property developing. As early as 1995, a shared passion for building lead Gary and his wife Heather to build their first spec home. Since then, they have built over 52 homes locally. During this period, Gary completed a Certificate 3 in Carpentry and held a structural landscaping licence. This experience allowed him to gain robust knowledge of Council by-laws, building regulations and the expertise of project management.
In 2009 Gary transitioned into real estate full-time. He has used his extensive experience in sales, business, and building to become a leading real estate professional in Toowoomba. Gary made "the A list" for top 150 real estate professionals in Queensland in 2014 and 2017, as well as reaching Elite Performer status (a national recognition for being amongst the top performing Ray White agents for a financial year) for 4 years. Gary has also won numerous awards for Excellence in Customer Service, and marketing awards.
Outside of work, Gary loves spending time with his family and friends. Bike rides with his grandson is one of his favourite activities, if he’s not manicuring his lawn or washing his cars. A long-term love affair with music, Gary spent his youth playing drums and piano in local bands, and this passion continues today.
Gary’s skill and professionalism is undeniable, but it’s his life experiences that has made him the person he is today. From humble beginnings he has worked hard to achieve success both in his professional and personal life. Gary is eager to help you achieve success in your property journey today.
